Hi John & Tina.. My heart goes out for both of you... he was a special Dog and one I feel proud to have known and loved.. I'm gutted for you I really am.. This breed of dog as suffered in the past from bad press, yet here was a dog.. a very big soild and strong dog that was as gentle as a lamb and perfect company. What ever you did in is training paid off, he was and will always be one of my all time favorite dog... R.I.P. Big Fellow...R.I.P.
Dear old Tom sent me your way to see about your loss and send my condolences. What a beautiful dog! And what a short life. . .Rottweiler's are sometimes 'made mean' here in the U.S. but those that own them for companionship feel a love from them like no other. As I'm sure you did. I lost my beloved old Siberian Husky in March and have some idea of what you must be feeling. Sending my very best wishes.
John, as a dog owner I came also to say how very sorry I was to hear your news. We lost our Max, Christmas 2006. Without a doubt he was the best dog we ever had. We had to make the same decision, but we did it for him because we loved him so much. In the end he had had enough. He too had a tumour.
In the months following his leaving us the memories have been a source of comfort and support, yes I still miss him but he was my protector and would have been distressed when he could no longer fulfill his main aim in life.
